Marc Amicone announced his retirement after 21 years of dedicated service, unwavering commitment and extraordinary leadership. Marc is a true pillar in our community and the world of baseball.
Marc joined the Larry H. Miller Company in 2004 as general manager for the Salt Lake Bees and was named president in 2017. He was recognized as the Pacific Coast League’ s Executive of the Year in 2009. In 2015, the Salt Lake Bees received Baseball America’ s Bob Freitas Award as the outstanding Triple-A franchise. Marc also received the 2017 Larry H. & Gail Miller Values Award.
“ When I became the president of Miller Sports + Entertainment and the
Utah Jazz, it was apparent that Marc was the kind of leader you want in every organization,” said CEO Steve Starks.“ He always leads by example, and I think he’ s the type of leader we all want to emulate.”
Marc’ s vision, integrity and heart have left an indelible mark on the community and everyone who worked alongside him. From the dugout to the front office, from developing talent to building a culture of excellence, he’ s led with passion and purpose every step of the way. Marc’ s legacy goes beyond wins and milestones; it’ s in the teams he’ s built, the careers he’ s shaped and the community spirit he’ s fostered.
Building Confidence, Connection and Growth
Twelve employees from the Larry H. Miller Company recently completed the Career Development and Rising Leader Series through the Women’ s Leadership Institute, an organization dedicated to advancing women in the workplace.
Over several months, participants attended in-person sessions, connecting with professional women across industries such as tech, healthcare, marketing and finance. They also learned from business leaders and policymakers on topics like leadership, communication and career growth.

Melissa Funk, senior associate of mergers and acquisitions at the LHM Company, reflected on her experience:“ The program gave me the space to pause and consider the leader I am today and the leader I want to become. It was inspiring to learn from so many incredible women.”
