Salt Lake City Awarded 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games
Gail Miller , Kim Wilson , Steve Miller , and Jenny Miller joined the Salt Lake City-Utah Committee Bid delegation in Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games and were present when Salt Lake City was announced as the Official Host City for the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games .
Before the announcement , they listened to the bid presentations to the International Olympic Committee for the French Alps 2030 and Salt Lake City 2034 , and were also able to attend the Opening Ceremony along the Seine .
Steve Miller , chair of the Larry H . Miller Company and trustee of the Miller Family Foundation , currently sits on the Utah Sports Commission Board . LHM Company CEO Steve Starks serves as the governor ’ s Olympic and Paralympic Games Advisor .
Community Impact
The Larry H . & Gail Miller Family Foundation committed to be a philanthropic donor to the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games . The Miller Family Foundation will also support community impact programming and youth sports programs in preparation for the 2034 Winter Games .
“ The Miller Family Foundation looks forward to funding and supporting statewide programs that allow youth and Utahns to have an Olympic experience ,” said Steve Miller . “ As the world will be coming to Utah , this is a wonderful opportunity to prepare and show what makes Utah the great state that it is .”
The Miller Family Foundation joined more than 500 youth from 34 nations at the Sport dans la Ville ’ s Festival in Paris on Thursday , July 25 , 2024 .
During the event , the Salt Lake City-Utah Committee for the Games announced a partnership with Paris-based Sport dans la Ville . The partnership will help promote the power of sports to unite communities . Young athletes heard from leaders throughout Utah and received MLB baseballs provided by the Salt Lake Bees and the Big League Utah coalition .
Olympic Legacy
Larry H . and Gail Miller served as honorary venue chairs for the Salt Lake Ice Center ( Delta Center ) during the 2002 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games . They also participated in the Olympic Torch Relay .
Don Stirling , executive director of the Miller Family Foundation , served as the managing director of sponsorship for the 2002 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City .
