A Season
of Honors
LHM Leaders Acknowledged
for Achievements and Contributions
Gail Miller has long been known as a
woman with a firm dedication to certain
values and principles. Not only within the
LHM Group of companies but also within the
larger business and philanthropic community.
It is no wonder, then, that Gail has been
honored multiple times over the years by
numerous organizations. The most recent of
these honors come from the Utah Technology
Council and the Utah Sports Hall of Fame.
The Utah Technology Council is a
group that serves as a voice for the growing
technology sector in Utah. This includes
not only business leaders but also educators,
government institutions, and financial
institutions. For 2018, they inducted three
new members into their Hall of Fame, one of
which was Gail Miller. Nominees are selected
based on their “contributions to the innovation
community through disruption, innovation,
and philanthropy.” For Gail to receive this
honor shows how respected she—along with
the rest of the LHM Group—is by the Utah
business community.
As the owner of the Utah Jazz, Gail has
a prominent place within the Utah sports
community and has earned much acclaim for
the success the team has achieved under her
leadership. It is for these reasons that Gail was
one of five inductees into their Hall of Fame in
2018—a move that is sure to please the state’s
many sports fans.
Greg Miller was also honored with an
award by the Sutherland Institute. The
Sutherland Institute is a Utah-based
organization that is “committed to shaping
Utah law and policy based on a core set of
governing principles.” Their stated principles
include “private imitative, self-reliance, and
family,” all values very close to Greg’s heart.
Finally, Jay Francis, executive vice
president for Corporate Affairs and Miller
Family Philanthropy, was awarded one of
the annual Titan Awards by the Sandy Area
Chamber of Commerce. The Sandy chamber
is an economic powerhouse in Utah and owes
a great debt to Jay, who was the Chamber’s
president for many years. The award serves not
only as an acknowledgment of his efforts but
also as a heartfelt tribute and Thank you. ◆
