Miller Lexus Spokane featuring an open house, customers tours of the facility, entertainment and hors d’oeuvres. Spokane Mayor David A. Condon was in attendance, as well as representatives from Lexus and the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. The event was open to the public with members of the community invited to join the celebration. The multimillion-dollar reconstruction of Larry H. Miller Dealerships three downtown Spokane stores reached its first milestone with the of a state-of-the-art Lexus store in a new location at 1030 W. 3rd Avenue—but close enough to its longtime previous location that it still feels like home to the store’s customers. “The Lexus store was designed with the customer and community in mind. The new facility provides the ultimate customer experience with an enhanced customer care lounge and a larger service department,” said Bob McLean, general manager, Larry H. Miller Lexus Spokane. The sleek Lexus facility was designed to complement the urban context of downtown, with red brick, warm stone accents and a two-story glass entry. In addition, the existing historic building (the former International Harvester Company truck showroom) was carefully restored to its original design, reflecting the deep-rooted history of this downtown location, which has been dedicated to car sales and service for nearly a century. “We are dedicated to being good community partners and are proud to be able to contribute to the Spokane economy,” said Dean Fitzpatrick, president, Larry H. Miller Dealerships. “We value our employees, customers and community and look forward to doing our part to help revitalize this downtown area.” WS NEW BOOK INSPIRES NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS Larry H. Miller played by his own rules. He was a college dropout who went on to buy or build nearly one hundred businesses, and became known as a masterful entrepreneur, a self-made billionaire and a philanthropist. While his life as a successful businessman and NBA team owner played out in public, his battle with diabetes and quiet acts of service were known to very few—until now. Behind the Drive, the new book from Bryan Miller due for release on November 27, 2015, contains 99 uplifting and untold stories shared by those who knew and were lifted by Larry’s quiet kindness; from NBA legends to childhood friends; from politicians to family members; from colleagues to competitors. The stories have the power to lift and inspire the next generation of leaders, as well as help everyone discover Larry’s formula for success: Do work you love, Get better at it every day and Serve others. Gail Miller, as an expression of her thanks for the contributions that each of us makes every day to help the Group grow and succeed, is purchasing a copy of the book for all full- and part-time employees. “The stories in Behind the Drive are at the core of why Larry and I went into business and took the risks we did.
