Your “Give Us 5” Donations at Work
A Glance at LHM Charities at Work in May and June
L
arry H. Miller Charities supports 501(c)
(3) nonprofit charities that assist women
and children in the areas of health and
education. Donations are focused on programs
that help those who live in the communities
where LHM Group businesses are located. More
than $228,000 was donated in May and June.
In Arizona, Colorado, and Washington, the
American Cancer Society received funding to
assist cancer patients with transportation to
treatments.
A contribution to Catholic Charities of
Denver benefited Marisol Home, which serves
homeless women who are pregnant or have
children. A donation to Inland Empire Rescue
Mission in California provided summer
activities for homeless children, while a grant to
Valley of the Moon in Tucson, Arizona, helped
kids with special needs participate in theatrical
productions.
Contributions in Albuquerque, New
Mexico, provided STEM supplies for an early
childhood learning center (La Vida Felicidad),
food for senior women raising grandchildren
(Silver Horizons New Mexico), and funding
for a therapeutic riding program that benefits

the developmentally or intellectually disabled
(Mandy’s Farm).
In Spokane, Washington, Beats and
Rhythms obtained support for a camp that
youth with heart disease can attend, and Big
Brothers Big Sisters of the Inland Northwest
received funds for its youth mentoring program.
In Utah, employees helped two charities that
provide hungry kids with food on weekends
(Tan’s Treats and For the Kids)
and supported programs at
Primary Children’s Hospital
that assist patients with medical
costs and organ transplant
expenses. Children’s grieving
centers in Salt Lake and Utah
Counties also received grants
(The Sharing Place and Canary
Garden). Refugee women
benefited from a contribution
to the English Language Center
of Cache Valley, and homeless
students received new shoes and
clothing through a donation
to the Tooele County School
District Education Foundation.
Iron County Care and Share, Cancer Wellness
House, Art Access, and other charities also
received contributions.
