Message from Gail Miller, Owner of the LHM Group of Companies Thank You for a Wonderful Year I always enjoy this time of year, not just because of the holidays and festivities that accompany the holiday season, but also for the opportunity I have to reflect on the previous year and look ahead to the adventures of the new year. As a company, we have a lot to be proud of and many milestones to celebrate. Some of these achievements are highlighted in the pages of this issue. Whether we are celebrating the 100 millionth guest at the Megaplex Theatres or recognizing the companies who have been honored as being the best in their industry or rewarding the impressive achievements of our automotive salespeople, our success is anchored in the good things that each of you make happen every day. Our achievements are indicative of the kind of culture that we have, the dedication of our people, and the ability that you have to do good and make good things happen. There are no small or insignificant jobs in this company; every job is important, and every employee is important. I never cease to be amazed by the loyalty, hard work, and dedication I see in every corner of our businesses. A good portion of our company centers on the automotive side of the business, and again this year, I had the opportunity to honor the sales achievements reached in 2018. Selling cars is not an easy job. The accomplishments of our salespeople are genuinely praiseworthy. But I know that success doesn’t happen overnight. Each had to learn the necessary skills and develop their talents along the way. Salesmanship is as much about learning the trade as it is about closing the deal. You have to learn about customers, about their needs and their wants, and you have to learn about the product that you sell. You have to learn about policies and procedures, and cultures, and systems. You have to learn about cooperation. You have to learn about presentation. You have to learn about consistency; coming to work every single day and then starting over and doing the same things again the next day and doing them right consistently. You have to learn about goal-setting, and patience, and about rejection. And you learn that every day is a new day, a new beginning, a new opportunity, a new chance to do even better than the day before. “Thank you for making our company and our communities better and for treating our customers with respect, courtesy, and professionalism.” Gail Miller No matter your role in the company, your accomplishments are not only for you but for those who are watching you. Your successes are living lessons for everyone. You might not ever be aware of how many people are influenced and inspired by your actions, whether at work, at home, or in your communities, but your sense of stewardship sets you apart from the rest. I want to thank each of you for representing the Larry H. Miller Group the way you do, day in and day out, and for the accomplishments that you’ve made this past year. Thank you for making our company and our communities better and for treating our customers with respect, courtesy, and professionalism. I am grateful for each one of you. May the coming year be full of learning, growth, success, and happiness! ◆ RELATED ARTICLES IN THIS ISSUE Page 4 Year-End Sales Awards | Page 14 Six Ways to Improve Your Customer Service in 2019 LHMWSM.com 1
