For the ninth year in a row, LHM Dealerships
in Boise have been the driving force behind
a community coat drive that seeks warm
winter coats for the homeless population of
the city. The drive supports the Boise Rescue
Mission, which provides shelter to more than
400 homeless families and individuals each
night. Their goal is to restore dignity, a sense
of purpose, and hope to those struggling with
homelessness.
“As the temperature cools and the snow
starts to fall, there is a critical need for those
who are vulnerable in the community to stay
warm,” said Rev. Bill Roscoe. “Coats are a major
need during the winter season as many of our
homeless guests do not have adequate winter
clothing.”
The coat drive began on November 20th and
ran through December 7th , and more than 300
coats were collected.. As a result of these efforts,
many of those in need were able to stay warm
and to have a brighter holiday season than they
might have otherwise. ◆
