A Glance at LHM Charities at Work in November and December
Give Us Five donations to Larry H. Miller
(LHM) Charities support programs that
address health and education issues that
impact women and children who live in the
communities where our companies conduct
business. In December, LHM Charities
contributed more than $260,000 to 38 charities.
A donation in Tucson, Arizona, assisted
women in crisis and helped mentor youth
(Operation 13:2). Funding also provided a
home for a single mother (Habitat for Humanity
Tucson). Phoenix contributions were part of
a 10 Days of Giving campaign, and Denver/
Boulder, Colorado, participated in a Five Days
of Giving campaign. (See article in this Winning
Spirit issue.)
In Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ronald
McDonald House of Southern Colorado
received funding, and a grant to Community
Partnership for Child Development helped
disadvantaged preschoolers. Colorado Springs
Conservatory’s after-school program also
received support.

Society of Idaho and provided STEM
workshops for kids (Reuseum Educational).
A contribution to the Children’s Fund in San
Bernardino, California, benefited youth in
foster care.
Funding granted in Albuquerque, New
Mexico, helped children with dyslexia
(Masonic School for Children With Learning
Disabilities), assisted adolescents/young
adults with cancer (UNM Foundation), and
aided students at Kennedy Middle School.
Contributions also provided homeless
services (Joy Junction), school clothes for
needy students (Student’s Clothing Locker),
and assistance for a domestic
violence shelter (SAFE House).
Utah donations delivered
pediatric medical care
(Mountainlands Community
Health Center) and enabled lowincome
women to obtain better
employment (People Helping
People). Support for homeless
services went to Switchpoint
Resource Center and Ogden
Family Promise. A Title I school
arts program produced by Salt
Lake Acting Company received
funding as well. The Christmas
Box International, Whispering
Canyons Foundation, Tennis and Tutoring
Program, Utah Foster Care, Sons of Baseball
