Outside the plan itself , but in support of its execution , are Operational Tasks and Tactical Tasks and their associated Metrics . To be responsive to a changing planning environment , both Operational and Tactical Tasks , along with their associated Metrics , are subject to significant adjustment over the course of plan implementation .

Strategic Planning Committees
Effective and efficient committees are essential for the development and eventual implementation of any strategic plan . While the Board of Trustees provides high-level guidance and approval of the strategic plan , its management necessitates a multi-tiered organizational construct to ensure inclusion at all levels , from strategic goals to operational tasks and metrics . Williamson ’ s strategic planning organizational structure involves three committee layers .
Board Strategic Planning Committee – Comprised of select Board officers , the college President , and key members of his Executive Staff , the committee oversees the formation of the college ’ s Mission , Vision , Strategic Goals and associated Strategic Initiatives . In support of the full Board of Trustees , the committee reviews and revises the final draft of the plan , which it recommends to the full Board for consideration and eventual approval . Once the plan is approved , the committee works continues to represent the full Board of Trustees by working with the Executive Committee ( EXCOM ) to oversee plan implementation , periodically providing reports to the Board on plan progress and execution .
