ABOUT BEM
BEM is a federal statutory agency under the Ministry of Works Malaysia . It was established under the laws of Malaysia , the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 ( Act 138 ), with the primary role to register Engineers , Engineering Technologists and Inspectors of Works . BEM also registers Engineering Consultancy Practices in the form of sole proprietorships , partnerships and body corporates providing professional engineering services . It also regulates the professional conduct and practice of registered persons in order to safeguard the interest of the public .

The Board is committed to provide excellent services to interested parties in compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements and continually improve its system .
• All matters pertaining to the registration of engineers will be processed within a stipulated time frame .
• BEM shall actively participate in activities related to the engineering profession with other government agencies or interested parties .
• All complaints and enquiries from the public relating to engineering services shall be attended to expeditiously .
