The World Language department ' s mission is to prepare Wheeler students to develop the skills and knowledge to interact with people from different cultures and become competent global citizens.
Students will be exposed to learning through: Communication: Students should develop the skills to express their thoughts and ideas in a target language effectively. Cultural Understanding: Students should develop the ability to be open-minded and tolerant, and to respond appropriately and respectfully to cultural differences. Critical Thinking: Students should develop the skills to read and think critically, and to consider multiple perspectives in a target language. Lifelong Learning: Students should develop the desire to pursue a lifelong appreciation of world languages and cultures.
