The Fine Arts department ' s mission is to prepare Wheeler students through exploration, critical and reflective thinking, as well as hands-on learning, fostering a lifelong relationship with the arts.
Students will be exposed to learning through: Diverse Techniques: Students should develop various methods for using various materials, including traditional and contemporary practices. Creative thinking: Students should develop problem-solving techniques to see the world in new ways and also learn to generate and conceptualize ideas, and to organize and develop their work. Cultural Awareness: Students should understand and appreciate the views, values, and customs of others through exposure to various art forms and histories broadening their cultural understanding and appreciation. Collaboration: Students should develop the ability to work cohesively in groups fostering teamwork, communication, and creativity.
