Course Name: Audio-Video Technology and Film II Type of Course: Elective Course
Available to: 10th- 12th grade
Prerequisites: Audio-Video Technology and Film I( 70 %+)
Description: This course is the second course in the Audio & Video Technology & Film Pathways. This course continues to prepare students for a career in Audio Video Technology and Film production by students beginning their first semester on the staff of“ Wildcat TV”. Activities include planning, writing, directing, and editing a production; field equipment functions; operational set-up and maintenance; advanced editing operations; performance; production graphics; copyright use, and distribution. Students will be trained to produce original content in a show format as well as meet program requirements, content rules, and distribution deadlines.
Course Name: Audio-Video Technology and Film II- Sports Media Type of Course: Elective Course
Available to: 10th- 12th grade
Prerequisites: Audio-Video Technology and Film I( 80 %+) AND teacher approval
Description: This course is the second course in the Audio & Video Technology & Film Pathways. This course allows students to begin an in-depth exploration of broadcast video production with a focus on sports media. Students will learn the technical and creative aspects of producing live and recorded sports content, including game coverage, sports news, and feature stories. The course combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, preparing students to showcase their knowledge in the Spring semester in the Broadcast Video Production Application- Sports Media course.
Course Name: Audio-Video Technology and Film III Type of Course: Elective Course
Available to: 10th- 12th grade
Prerequisites: Audio-Video Technology and Film II( 70 %+)
Description: This course is the third course in the Audio Video Technology and Film I Pathway. Students continue their second semester on the staff of“ Wildcat TV”. Students work cooperatively and independently in all phases of production. Students at this level will serve in management roles to produce original content in a show format as well as meet program requirements, content rules, and distribution deadlines. This course provides leadership training for reinforcing specific career and technical skills considered an integral part of the instructional program. Students who successfully complete this should be prepared to take an End of Pathway Assessment( EOPA) to be able to earn an industry-recognized credential.
Course Name: Broadcast Video Production Application Type of Course: Elective Course
Available to: 10th- 12th grade
Prerequisites: Audio-Video Technology and Film II( 80 %+)
Description: This course is the third course in the Audio Video Technology and Film II Pathway. This course is designed to produce work for school and faculty-requested projects under the guidance of the instructor. Students will also continue their third semester on the staff of“ Wildcat TV”. Students will learn to serve a client and work cooperatively and independently in all phases of production. Topics include video marketing, program production, professional communication, and use of specialized equipment as necessary. Students who successfully complete this should be prepared to take an End of Pathway Assessment( EOPA) to be able to earn an industry-recognized credential.
