Course Name: Broadcast Video Production Application- Sports Media Type of Course: Elective Course
Available to: 10th- 12th grade
Prerequisites: Audio-Video Technology and Film II- Sports Media( 80 %+)
Description: This course is the third course in the Audio Video Technology and Film II Pathway. This course is designed to produce work for live and recorded sports content, including game coverage, sports news, and feature stories under the guidance of the instructor by students continuing their second semester of Sports Media. Students will learn to serve a client and work cooperatively and independently in all phases of production. Topics include video marketing, program production, professional communication, and use of specialized equipment as necessary. Students who successfully complete this should be prepared to take an End of Pathway Assessment( EOPA) to be able to earn an industryrecognized credential.

Available to: 11th and 12th grade
Prerequisites: Broadcast Video Production Application( 80 %+) AND teacher approval
Description: Students may continue their work on the‘ Wildcat TV’ Staff or the Sports Media Staff while performing at an independent level of proficiency and refine building a digital portfolio of his / her work for college entrance or industry placement. Topics of this laboratory-based course include specialization, production, career portfolio, communication skills, and professional ethics. Skills learned in previous AVTF courses are applicable to this course.

Course Name: Introduction to Business and Technology Type of Course: Elective Course Available to: 9th- 11th grade
Prerequisites: None
Description: This course is the foundational course for the Entrepreneurship Pathway. The course is designed for high school students as a gateway to the career pathways in Business Management and Administration and provides an overview of business and technology skills required for today ' s business environment. Knowledge of business principles, the impact of financial decisions, and technology proficiencies demanded by business combine to establish the elements of this course. Emphasis is placed on developing proficient fundamental computer skills required for all career pathways. Students will learn essentials for working in a business environment, managing a business, and owning a business. The intention of this course is to prepare students to be successful both personally and professionally in an information-based society. Students will not only understand the concepts but apply their knowledge to situations and defend their actions / decisions / choices through the knowledge and skills acquired in this course. Employability skills are integrated into activities, tasks, and projects throughout the course standards to demonstrate the skills required by business and industry.
