POSTSECONDARY PLANS INFORMATION
A postsecondary plan is what a student chooses to do after graduation. Typically, students choose to pursue attending a technical school or college / university, joining the military, starting their job career, or participating in a trade / apprenticeship program.
HOPE AND ZELL MILLER SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COLLEGE
Georgia ' s HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships are available to Georgia residents who have demonstrated academic achievement in high school and college. The HOPE scholarship provides money to assist students with a portion of the tuition cost( up to 100 %) at a HOPE Scholarship eligible college or university. The Zell Miller scholarship provides money to assist students with 100 % tuition cost of attending a Zell Miller Scholarship eligible college or university.
What are the academic requirements to be eligible for the HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships? 1) Graduate from an eligible high school or an accredited home study program 2) Earn a minimum of four full rigor credits from the Academic Rigor Course List( most updated list available on the GA Futures website) 3) HOPE- Graduate with a minimum 3.0 calculated HOPE Grade-Point Average( GPA)
Zell Miller- Graduate with a minimum 3.7 calculated HOPE Grade-Point Average( GPA) 4) Zell Miller only- Earn a minimum score of 1200 on a single administration of the SAT or a minimum composite score of 25 on a single administration of the ACT
How do I calculate my HOPE GPA? Your HOPE GPA is calculated only using your core courses( English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies), World Language courses, and specific fourth science courses from GaDOE’ s Fourth Science List( see page 3 for the Wheeler’ s offered fourth science courses)
