2026-2027 REGISTRATION PROCESS

Current Wheeler students in 9th- 11th grade will register for courses for the 2026-2027 school year by having teachers place course labels on their official registration forms during Registration week. Students must have eight( 8) course labels on their registration forms to complete registration: one( 1) from English, Math, Science, Social Studies and four( 4) electives. Additionally, students should also have four( 4) alternate electives on their registration form. The alternate electives may be used to replace a selected elective if a scheduling conflict occurs, so consider carefully.
Students are responsible for their registration forms. They MUST keep up with the form all week and turn it in at the end of the week when called by last name to enter their courses.
Students will be called by last name to the Media Center to enter their courses into the scheduling database. After entering their course registration, students will receive a Course Request confirmation receipt indicating the courses for which they have requested to be registered.

COURSE REQUEST CHANGES

You will be given a physical copy of your Course Request sheet at the end of registration. If any of the courses listed on the form are incorrect or if you disagree with a course recommendation, you will strike through the unwanted course on the Course Request and write the name of the new course in the space to the right of the original course. Then BOTH you and your parent / guardian must sign the form and return it to Admin 3( room 2049) by March 6th, 2026. Please note, that by changing the teacher recommended course, you assume responsibility for the placement and accept the level of rigor that the new course presents. Once a course change has been fulfilled, it will not be reversed.
*** IMPORTANT: Once our master schedule has been finalized( late May), schedules will not be changed except for scheduling corrections.***

REGISTRATION PREPARATION

Students should review the courses listed in the Table of Contents of this 2026-2027 Course Catalog to select courses for next school year. Teachers will have a printed copy in their classrooms with additional copies in the Media Center, Counseling office, and Front Office.
*** Students are encouraged to use the Course Registration Worksheet( page 15) and the Calculating Weekly Workload Worksheet( page 17) to plan which courses they wish to take next year. Keep in mind, grade levels are included for many of our courses, so remember you are confirming the grade level you should be promoted to NEXT school year for these courses i. e. current 10th graders will be eligible for classes that are listed as 11th grade.
*** Some courses such as Work-Based Learning require an application and / or teacher recommendation form that must be completed prior to registration. Contact the teacher or your counselor to get an application before registration begins for more details.
