Name: Paige Dowding Number of Years on the Team: 4
Why did you join: I first joined the team due to curiosity. After I had received a recommendation from Kaitlyn I had to see what the team was like for myself. Without her telling me about Buzz I would have never joined the team in the first place.
Favorite part of Buzz: My favorite part of being on the team is seeing the robot on the field after a long, grueling build season. Seeing the bot at competitions shows how we achieved something as a group and where able to solve a difficult problem in a short period of time. I love it when all our hard work pays off after a long season.
Most memorable moment in your time on Buzz: The most memorable moment that I have on the team is the time I made the spacers, which are pieces of material used to separate two or more parts, on the lift for the 2015 robot. This part took a lot of time and energy to make and I learned a lot about the machines in the process of making it. This is my favorite memory on the team due to the amount of time I spent and this was one of the first major parts I had made for the robot that year.
Future Plans: I hope to attend WPI, UCONN, or Western New England and major in Robotic or Computer Engineering and minor in Mechanical engineering. After college I will find a meaningful career in these fields and one day return to FRC in order to mentor on a robotics team.
