Technology in Grade 6

Technology in Grade 6

This year was jam-packed with learning about technology and the different ways we can use it. We have been introduced to so many online activities. Here are some of the ways we loved learning with technology:

Grade 6

●●
We made electrical circuits in the form of a steady-hand game using soldering irons. This was a complicated task which needed planning, research and patience. They were then used to help the Grade 2s with their hand-eye co-ordination.
●●
We were introduced to Purple Mash and allowed to open our own accounts. This enabled us to present our work in interesting and creative ways
●●
We received our first school Gmail account and this meant we could now use Google Classroom which is an online classroom that allows us to view tasks, revision, PowerPoints and anything else that we may have missed in class. It is also a place where we can ask our fellow classmates for help and guidance.
●●
During the DIY advertisement we learnt how to shoot and edit a short film. This project was a great experience as we could express our ideas as a team.
●●
We have also used Chromebooks and Google Classroom to research the fascinating history of Mapungubwe.

As you can see term by term we bettered our skills. We became more independent in learning how to handle different forms of technology. We went from logging into computers and making PowerPoints to editing short films. All this with a little help from our teachers.
