Projects Growing Crystals I noticed while we were using salt or sugar we would end up with different products. It was a very fun experience watching the crystals grow. They were all different to each other and I noticed that the salt crystals formed quicker than the sugar crystals. Rebecca Gorman and Julia Anne Stevens Rain Gauge Project First, we had to get a 2 litre bottle. We then cut off the top. After which, we got masking tape and wrote measurements in millimetres and centimetres. Lastly, we went on an awesome trip to collect stones in the rose garden. Looking for the stones to weigh the rain gauge down was a very fun experience. If they were dirty, we got to clean them – in the bird bath! I really enjoyed going out every day (no matter what the weather was) to measure how much rain fell each day. When it rained we got soaked (eek!), but it was a lot of fun. It was a very educational and enjoyable experience! Aaliyah Hoosain, T hanaa Parker and Chloe Lallemand Democracy and Citizenship In History, we learnt about democracy and citizenship in South Africa. We enjoyed learning about apartheid and how democracy was implemented in South Africa. Democracy taught us that regardless of what race, gender or religion you are, we all share the same love and affection for our country and its people. Razia Paleker and Zara Poovan 49
