Malenfant Joins St . Mary ’ s Infectious Disease
Infectious disease specialist Jason Malenfant , M . D ., MPH , has joined St . Mary ’ s Infectious Disease .
Malenfant previously served as a fellow physician in preventive medicine and public health at the University of California Los Angeles ( UCLA ) Medical Center and Los Angeles County Department of Public Health , working as a critical member of their COVID- 19 response teams .
Board certified in both infectious diseases and internal medicine , Malenfant received his medical degree from St . George ’ s University School of Medicine in Grenada , West Indies . He also holds a Master of Public Health and a bachelor ’ s degree in biology . He completed his fellowship in infectious disease at UCLA Medical Center .
Mon Health Medical Center Staff Receive Top Designations
Mon Health Medical Center ( MHMC ) surgeon Mark Johnson , M . D ., has been awarded designation as a Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation ( SRC ). This accreditation distinguishes MHMC from other facilities by providing the highest quality of care to patients as determined by an independent , external process of evaluation . Born and raised in Morgantown , Johnson is committed to delivering excellent care and the best patient outcomes close to home .
“ This accreditation wouldn ’ t have been possible without the teamwork demonstrated by the Mon Health Medical Center robotic surgery team ,” he says . “ I grew up knowing that medicine takes a lot of work and a lot of compassion . We strive to provide best in class care to our patients , which is strengthened by our recent accreditation recognition from the SRC .”
In addition to this designation , MHMC received its achievement in 2020 as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery and is the only such designated facility within 125 miles . At the same time MHMC received its achievement , Jaschar Shakuri-Rad , D . O ., was also recognized as a Master Surgeon and Surgeon of Excellence by SRC .
