Appitized Health Pocket Midwife is the first mobile app developed by the NHS exclusively for patient use. Developed in collaboration with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, the purpose of the app is to reassure pregnant women and their families on their pregnancy journey, while creating major efficiencies for the NHS, including huge financial savings. Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre Research has shown that not all patients who suffer with back pain need the same level of care. Using a brief screening tool and matched treatments, care can be targeted to help patients recover more quickly. We have developed and tested an electronic template to assist clinicians deliver this approach. It consists of a set of 19 simple checks which test for different symptoms. Now, Baby Check is available to parents and carers as an app – rapid assessment at their fingertips, in their own home. Cloud2 Ltd Kinesis is a clinical advice application that runs securely over the N3 network, allowing GPs and other healthcare professionals to seek advice from specialists as an alternative to referring patients. Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS) CWPS has validated and now implemented the Omnyx digital pathology system for routine histopathology reporting. This represents a major advance in histopathology, moving from microscopes to digital images for diagnosis. The department is the first in the UK to do this, and one of the first worldwide. Coventry University My Liver App is an innovative mobile phone app designed to help support young people with liver disease while negotiating the transition process. Designed by young people for young people, the app will improve knowledge, allow users to engage with their care and reduce stress on healthcare systems. Endoscope-I Ltd A system normally costing in excess of £10,000, Endoscope-I condenses this technology into a portable, easy to use and economical device that can be used to capture, record and playback a patient’s ENT examination which then uploads the images into the local electronic health record for documentation or referral for a second opinion. 6,000 patients die every year due to clinicians not recognising the patient’s deterioration in time, many more dying through sepsis and the need to respond rapidly. GROUNDVISION solves these issues and puts crucial patient centric alerting and real-time analysis in the hands of clinicians and medical staff enabling them to proactively treat patients before it b ecomes too late. HeadGym HeadGym coaching is a one-to-one flexible service providing innovative self help techniques for adults and children that enable clients with mental health challenges to develop mental resilience and manage their own mental health. Health Education England West Midlands (HEE) HEE has developed a bespoke Telephone Consultation and Distance Health Assessment training module, offering targeted skills training to clinicians involved in 111 and out of hours service delivery, addressing an identified training need and satisfying national policy to enhance the development of “tele-competencies” in the clinical workforce.
