WMAHSN Celebration of Innovation Awards 2016
Delegate Brochure 2016 14
WMAHSN’ s Celebration of Innovation Awards have been established to recognise and celebrate the work of NHS organisations, universities, charities, councils and businesses to develop better healthcare outcomes and increased wealth for local people.
The NHS faces major challenges to meet the increasing demand for services and growing financial pressures, and innovation is central to overcoming these challenges. These new awards aim to celebrate innovative ideas and explore the potential to develop and adopt them on a wider scale so they benefit patients throughout the West Midlands – and potentially the UK and beyond.
Over 80 entries were submitted across eight categories:
• Innovator of the Year Award
• Innovative Organisation of the Year Award
• Digital Health Innovation Award
• Person-centred Care Innovation Award
• Wealth Creation Innovation Award
• Clinical Trials and Evaluation Award
• Patient Safety Innovation Award
• Education and Skills Innovation Award
Entries were invited from staff at all levels, and the shortlist highlights the astonishing range of innovations developed by local organisations that are improving services and have the potential to save lives throughout the region.
“
As an AHSN, we have experienced that innovators can come from industry, NHS, academia or third sector. Similarly, those buying and benefiting from innovations are from all sectors. These awards were developed to acknowledge the hard work going on throughout the West Midlands, and reward contributions towards our overall aim of accelerating the adoption of innovation to generate continuous improvement in the region’ s health and wealth
