Unlike most intensive care units, we are replacing the
paper chart with an electronic system that improves data
capture, user experience and patient care by making the
data legible and available across all settings
presented within the electronic patient record.
We have developed an innovative training programme
which led to the development of five fully qualified
advanced critical care practitioners from nursing
background who now are on the medical rota. The Faculty
of Intensive Care Medicine has approved our training and
our centre is currently a recognised training centre.

Midlands area that are not currently being considered for

muscle condition around 1 in 500 individuals. For the last
six months, we have collected comprehensive clinical
and genetic information for HCM patients in a web-based
registry.
