Risk assessments for OTs
20 May 2026 – Remote course

This course will consider the use of risk assessment as a tool to assist with clinical decisions as an OT working in the community. It covers principles of risk assessment and management, how to risk assess to help with best interest decisions, functional assessments and provision of equipment or adaptations.
Delivered by Dr Chris Elliot Senior Expert Assessor.
Cost: £36 per person for the first 10 people, then £60 per person (inc VAT).


Walking aids training for OTs
8 June 2026 – Remote course

This course designed to help OTs with the prescription and issue of walking aids. Topics include: A brief overview of gait; Indicators of choice for walking aids; How to measure and how to use elbow crutches, walking frames, rollators and other common aids. Delivered by Lynette Parkes OT.
Cost: £36 per person for the first 10 people, then £60 per person (inc VAT).


Major adaptations in occupational therapy practice
9 and 16 June 2026 – Remote two-day course

This course is aimed at OTs new in the area of major adaptation recommendation and preparation, sharing knowledge gained over many years of working as an occupational therapist in Adult Social Care. Topics include relevant legislation; scale drawings; bathrooms; internal and external access solutions; considerations when designing for wheelchair users. The course includes online presentations and practical tasks and is spread over two separate days.
Cost: £72 inc VAT per person for the first 10 people, then £120 per person inc VAT. Delivered by Helena Amos, OT.
