WELCOME GUIDE 2015 Living Sustainably Living Off Campus At Keele we want to reduce our environmental impact and this requires your help in your accommodation. Information and advice will be provided in Halls about energy saving and reducing and recycling waste, and there will be competitions throughout the year to see which Halls can reduce their impact the most. You may have chosen to live off campus in private accommodation or you may have decided to live at home throughout your studies. Either way, we are committed to supporting you and making sure that you have a great student experience here at Keele. If you have any queries or suggestions about environmental related issues to do with your accommodation on campus then you can contact the Environmental team in the Estates Directorate at [email protected] For those students living off campus – look out for advice on saving energy (and money!) at the talks and events aimed at off campus students. There are dedicated pages about living in the community and for our local students living off campus and commuting to Keele who we fondly call LoCo students! Take some time out to have a look at them as they have loads of useful information on making friends, joining societies and making the most of your time at Keele as well as feeling a part of the Keele community. www.keele.ac.uk/studentgroups/ localandcommuterstudents www.keele.ac.uk/keele-community Also, don’t forget to join the LoCo Facebook Group to meet and make friends with other students living off campus – it’s always useful to find out who is living around you so you can share taxis home after a night out! www.facebook.com/groups/619883701442958 Depending on where you are living, you may want to look at your local Councils webpages to keep up to date on what is happening in your local community, in
