“I grew up with my parents
being missionaries and was
able to see how much giving
of yourself in any form can
change a person’s life and pro-
vide hope for a better tomor-
row. Having two boys, I see
how important it is to live and
carry on the legacy. My chil-
dren were Boys & Girls Clubs
of Long Beach members, and
I valued their enrichment pro-
grams. Thanks to Arielle Man-
dell who connected me to the
Venice Club, I’m now able to
pay it forward and contribute
to this amazing organization.”

given, much is expected’ is an
important message for me. My
parents, having lived through
The Depression, instilled in
me a deep respect for what
you have and a responsibility
to care for others if you are
able, be it financially or volun-
teering. It’s an honor to con-

clubs provide a remarkable re-
source for young people to
explore, grow and have a safe
and secure environment after-
school and beyond.”
