Photo by Matthew Cooper If you were in the first vehicle that went past the underworld of Chicago, you venture into the Wild West and visit Clint Eastwood and John Wayne, and arrive just in time to witness a bank robbery. Your tram driver tries to save the day but the building goes up in flames and the bank robber takes over the tram. (The second tram with the mobster travels past an audio-animatronic bank robbery shootout). From here, the rest of the ride is the same for both ride vehicles. The getaway tram is driven straight into a scene from Alien with Sigourney Weaver, which may be frightening for little ones. An alien attempts to descend from the ceiling and the guests barely escape from its clutches. Your next stop in the movies is a scene from Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark. Here your mobster (or bank robber) stops the tram and attempts to steal a priceless jewel. No need to worry though, you are on a movie journey after all and anything can happen! Great special effects ensure that your original trusted tram guide saves the day and returns to take you on the rest of your trip. Next you head off through the jungle and visit with Tarzan and Jane followed by the famous farewell scene from Casablanca, featuring lifelike animatronics of Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart. What better way is there to end a trip through the movies than a visit with Mickey as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Fantasia, which makes a nice tornado-esque segue into Munckinland. Join the munchkins to celebrate the wicked witch’s demise, until her sister, the Witch of the West, arrives to spoil the fun. After the witch promises to avenge her sister’s death, the munchkins advise the tour group to follow the yellow brick road to safety.
