Community Outreach & Education The SFPUC values the long-standing partnerships that we have established with the diverse communities we serve. We also value transparent communication and strive to address inquiries and concerns in a timely fashion. We continue to educate the public about local water supply issues and promote water conservation in our community through: • Innovative educational campaigns • Media and crisis communications • Informative print and digital publications in multiple languages • Engaging social media content • Public hearings, community events and educational presentations WESTSIDE WATER RECYCLING PROJECT IN THE NEWS In January 2018, we held a press event and broke ground on the treatment plant for the Westside Enhanced Water Recycling Project, a vital project for our agency and our City. Attendees included San Francisco Supervisor Norman Yee, Commissioners Francesca Vietor and Vince Courtney, General Manager Harlan Kelly, Assistant General Managers Kathy How and Brian Henderson, and the City staff that are working on this project. 14 CUSTOMER WATER USE TOOLS SFPUC’s My Account web portal allows customers to easily pay and view their water bills online and to see their hourly, daily, weekly and monthly water use which can help identify normal water use patterns and unusual spikes. Since its launch in 2014, registration for My Account has steadily increased to almost 70,000 users, or about 40% of the retail customer base. Residential My Account users can also track how their water use aligns with the SFPUC’s goal to keep residential daily water use under 50 gallons a person a day. Account holders can register at myaccount.sfwater.org.
