According to

there

diligently working to create awareness of this requirement and
make the purchasing process more convenient.
vaccination. Additionally, you must provide a veterinarian’s
record of the pet being spayed/neutered. The pet will be issued
a Lifetime Altered Pet Permit ($0). If the animal has not been
spayed/neutered, you are required to purchase an Annual
Intact Pet Permit ($40). Pictured below is the online licensing

Historically, there has been no system for annual renewal
reminders. Thanks to a generous donor, the Washington
County SPCA recently added a module to the cloud-based
shelter management program. This module allows licenses to
be purchased online. Once in the system, automated reminders
will be sent via email as each license expires.
Annual Pet Licenses may be purchased for $10 online or in
person at the Washington County SPCA office. When applying
for the City Pet License, you must provide proof of current rabies

The Future of Companion Animals Lies With Today's Children
“Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.” Malcom X
The problem with pet overpopulation is a complex one. A few years ago, the Board of Directors sat and dissected the
problem, and put forth possible solutions. Bit by bit, the Washington County SPCA has put these ideas into action. The
most recent solution that came to life was the effort in educating future generations.
The Animal Welfare Institute has a number of resources available for educational purposes. Two of those are children’s
books: Pablo Puppy’s Search for the Perfect Person and Kamie Cat’s Terrible Night. Pablo Puppy’s is about a puppy and
an older dog living in a shelter. The book educates children about the needs of dogs and humane treatment of animals.
Kamie Cat’s is about a poor kitty who gets lost and wants to be back in the safety of his home. It teaches responsible cat
care and kindness toward felines.
This outreach program is just another way that the Washington County SPCA serves our community. To continue our
services we need your support. Please consider supporting us with your time or donations.
