The Lost City

By Francesco Ongari

Everything began when Tom was on a field trip with his school. One day, they went to a dark cave with lots of hanging stalactites and stalagmites. Everyone was in line; the instructor was in front while Tom was the last one. After a while, some stalagmites opened and a tunnel appeared. Tom, being a curious boy, went into the never-ending tunnel.

Tom went walking in the soggy and dark tunnel, but his flashlight was not powerful enough for him to explore the whole thing so he decided to go back. But, 60 stalactites fell and blocked the way! Tom knew there was only one thing to do, to see what was at the end of the tunnel!

After a while, his flash- light’s battery stopped working. Luckily, he had one other battery, but he could not see where to put it. Then all of sudden, two yellow dots were in front of Tom and they started moving all around him. He didn’t know what they were. Finally, Tom managed to put the battery in the flash light and it started working. Tom was terrified because he saw that in

front of him, there was a huge grey werewolf! As soon as the werewolf saw the light, he started to chase Tom.

Tom realized that he had to run for his life, so he rushed to the part of the tunnel that he hadn’t explored yet. The werewolf never stopped chasing him. Tom ran as fast as he could, but tripped on something soft that interested the werewolf. Tom thought his problems were all over because the werewolf found his little thing, but he was wrong. The werewolf thought that Tom had stolen his strange thing, so he started to chase Tom again.

Eventually, Tom saw a soft light and started running faster and faster towards it. The light was getting nearer and nearer. Even when tom arrived at the light, he didn’t stop running. To his surprise, he saw he was in a huge city full of zombies and mysterious vampires in one part of it. Huge giants, colorful dragons and elves were in the other part of the city. Tom liked the city so much, and he was not afraid, so he decided to stay there instead of returning home.
