How many conventions have you been to?
I've been to 4, 3 States and 1 National.
When did you know you wanted to become a VJCL Officer?
I knew I wanted to run for President at national convention because I saw the leadership and I wanted to be part of it again and I didn’t want to just let it go* I was a state officer for one year and I had the chance, might as well take it.
Outside of the Classics, what’s your favorite thing to do?
I really like knitting and reading, very old ladyish but relaxing and enjoyable.
What are your ambitions as VJCL Secretary President?
I want to get Southern VA involved this year. I feel that this year, the way our board has been heading and all the ideas we’ve been sharing, as long as we can entertain the idea for longer than a meeting we can implement it.
What have you found difficult about your job so far?
STAYING ON TOP of things as they come up, because a lot of things come up very quickly. Last night I found out about Duke, which makes it very hard because meeting on the 14th due date on the 17th.
What’s the best thing about being an Officer?
Meeting the people. I’ve had the most fun meeting new and incredible new people. Not just to the VJCL but meeting other State officers. Obviously the pins. I HAVE TWO PINS AND WANT TO WEAR THEM BOTH. I AM SO PROUD OF THEM.
Switch roles with another officer, who would it be and why?
Parliamentarian, a lot of responsibility but also a lot of fun. You get close correspondence between potential candidates and future officers.
If you had to have an official officer animal, which animal would it be, what would you name it and why.
My best friend says I look like an owl, named Corneillia Priscilla Virginia.
How does it feel to bang the gavel?
AMAZING OH MY GOSH IT’S SO- I WIELD SO MUCH POWER BUT I CAN ONLY USE IT AT SELECT TIMES SO IT ALL JUST COMES OUT IN THE LITTLE TAPS.
