Interview with 2nd Vice President

Robert Kim

How many conventions have you been to?

I've been to 3 conventions, 2 state and 1 national.

When did you know you wanted to become a VJCL Officer?

I knew I wanted to become a VJCL Officer at my first convention and I was greeted by the officers as I came off of the bus. I never even imagined being where I am right now.

Outside of the Classics, what’s your favorite thing to do?

Probably programming or spending time outside with friends.

What are your ambitions as VJCL 2nd VP?

I want to make VJCL more about giving- I've seen firsthand how energetic we are and it would be really great if that energy could be put into service!!!

What have you found difficult about your job so far?

Getting in touch with the right people for specific events.

What’s the best thing about being an Officer so far?

Getting to know other JCLers and my fellow officers has been much easier as an officer, but also getting to know the adults involved in VJCL has been an eye-opening experience. Uh oh, I guess the Cochairs' underground Spirit Props ring has been ousted...

If you had to have an official officer animal, which animal would it be, what would you name it and why?

Definitely an ostrich named Oswald because Oswald is a beautiful name fitting for a beautiful animal.

After the horrid semblance of a democratic process that was the election for 2nd Vice President, the VJCL was in desperate need of a candidate who actually wanted to be 2nd VP to swoop in and save the day. Little did we know, there was a silent guardian, a watcher in the wings, ready to make his entrance. That man was none other than your new VJCL 2nd Vice President, Robert Kim! We knew he was the right man when, after having to introduce himself after then-candidate Adam Ashley, he uttered these words: "I too have a last name that is a common feminine first name."
