It is the second in a series of videos about autism and neurodiversity made by Triona Brading , a young autistic Christian . Her first video , ‘ Supporting Autistic Individuals in our Churches ’, has received nearly 800 views on YouTube !
In this new video , Triona explains the difference between a meltdown and a shutdown , which are two different types of physical and emotional response an autistic person may have to feeling overwhelmed .
A meltdown is an outward response , that often involves shouting and movement ; a shutdown is an inward response , that involves shutting yourself away and closing down communication .

Wheels for the World trips : Nigeria ( Lagos ): 20th – 30th March 2024 ( Partner : Tarela Aghanti of OIF Nigeria ) Rwanda ( Kayonza ): 12th – 22nd June 2024 ( Partner : Rev Dominique of FOH Rwanda ) Mozambique ( Mocuba ): 16th – 26th October 2024 ( Partner : Melvin Kelly of Somos Nós in Maputo ).
