Together ...
‘ Together ’ is the newly adopted name for Through the Roof ’ s holiday , online and in-person retreat activities which offers a sense of cohesion and belonging , whilst encapsulating the fellowship aspect of both TTR and DCF . There is now a single email address for all these activities : together @ throughtheroof . org . The name ‘ Together ’ is inviting , as well as simplifying and centralising how our guests / attendees could contact us .
It seemed a natural progression to develop ‘ Together ’ as an umbrella title for the various aspects of the programmes giving us ‘ Together on Holiday ’; ‘ Together in The Lounge ’; ‘ Together on Retreat ’ and ‘ Together at Home .’ Such a simple change has linked the activities , as well as naturally creating / suggesting a sense of fellowship for those who join the activity . The ‘ Together ’ activities reflect the heart of fellowship that is so central to what we do , and complements the ministry of the Disabled Christian Fellowship ( DCF ).
Together on Holiday
After last year ’ s successful holiday , we are returning for an activity holiday at Calvert Trust , Exmoor , Devon which runs from 24th to 28th June 2024 . The venue is specifically designed to provide accessible activities , not only for those with a disability but for their family and friends as well . The centre organises a programme of activities for us which includes things like archery , accessible bike riding , canoeing , abseiling and a visit to the stables . The site also offers beautiful scenery in the 44 acres of land , set on the edge of Exmoor National Park . The holiday package includes full board accommodation , all the activities , as well as a daily time of spiritual reflection . Together in The Lounge
The Lounge could best be described as an online opportunity to get together and have a cuppa . It is a good way to get to connect with others who have experience of disability and get to know them . At the end of each session , we have a short 5-to-10 minute devotional . We run the sessions every few months , usually on a Tuesday

Together at Home
Together at home is our recently developed online home group held on the first and third Thursdays of each month between 2 to 3 pm . This group offers attendees prayer , care and the opportunity to share with one another . We are blessed to have Anne and Alex Paton hosting , as they have personal experience of disability and a wealth of pastoral gifting between them . The group has been meeting since late 2023 and is gelling together and growing . Please email our address below to find out more or to get the link for group meetings .
Together on Retreat
Following the successful online retreat before Christmas last year , we ’ ve been blessed to welcome speaker Emily Owen to lead another online retreat . It was held in the week beginning Monday 18th March , this time with a focus on the events and journeys leading up to Easter . The theme is ‘ Following Jesus ’ along the difficult path He trod to the garden , the cross , and the tomb – before rejoicing with the disciples at the wonder of His resurrection .
