eTwinning, a Unique Learning Experience! by Elisabeta Edit Borș
The Calendar of Wellbeing in School is an eTwinning project implemented between October 2024 and May 2025. It brings together partner schools from eight countries and is designed for children aged 4 to 12. The project focuses on promoting wellbeing in education through collaborative, creative, and ageappropriate activities, encouraging young learners to explore and practice habits that support their emotional, social, and physical health throughout the school year.
Our objectives were: ü Improving the school climate ü Developing students ' socioemotional skills ü Better school performance ü Active involvement in family and community ü Increasing students ' involvement in extracurricular activities ü Reducing absenteeism and school dropout
Targeted competences By participating in the " Calendar of Wellbeing in School " project, students developed essential European key competences: communication in their mother tongue, communication in English, digital, social and civic competences, lifelong learning, artistic and cultural expression. At the same time, they acquired important social skills: empathy,
respect, responsibility and collaboration, forming a positive attitude towards learning, community and their own wellbeing.
Presentation of the project activities“ Calendar of Wellbeing in School” is an eTwinning project that promotes the wellbeing of students and teachers, developing a healthy, positive and inclusive educational environment, in 40 schools in 8 countries( Romania, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Poland, Georgia, Lithuania, Italy), with 389 students involved. By integrating the theme of wellbeing into the subjects, students were supported to combine the accumulation of knowledge with personal development, healthy attitudes and harmonious relationships.
Monthly activities October – Wellbeing in nature / CodeWeek: ecological digital projects, walks and thematic coding. November-December – Wellbeing in my class: classroom decoration, discussions about emotions, group cohesion. January – Wellbeing in my campaign: the“ I am the change in my school!” campaign – posters, slogans, awarenessraising. February – Wellbeing through the arts: collages, exhibitions, poetry, painting – developing emotional intelligence. February( optional)– Safer Internet Day: lessons about online safety and digital responsibility. March – Wellbeing through Mathematics, Science and ICT: interactive games, experiments, digital challenges, collective play.
