These activities improved their digital literacy, critical thinking, creativity, and online collaboration, while reinforcing their ability to work responsibly and respectfully in virtual international environments.
Cooperation and teamwork A central pillar of GrAIny TrAIny was its strong emphasis on international teamwork and intercultural dialogue. Pupils worked in mixed European teams on tasks such as the GrAIny Language Grains collaborative stories, Stories That Move podcasts, and New Year’ s Virtual Grandma Interviews. Students exchanged holiday cards and wishes, contributed to a shared Advent calendar, and launched challenges and polls for their partners during Code Week and Safer Internet Day. These interactions not only enhanced their language skills and confidence in English but also helped them become more empathetic, tolerant, and open-minded citizens.
For teachers, GrAIny TrAIny was an opportunity for deep pedagogical collaboration and innovation. Educators from different countries co-designed thematic modules, shared good practices, and ensured curricular integration across disciplines like English, ICT, Ethics, Philosophy, Citizenship, and Cultural Studies. The project promoted inclusive and student-centred learning through gamification, peer assessment, and reflective journaling. Teachers also explored ethical issues such as AI usage, digital safety, and copyright, preparing students for informed and responsible digital citizenship.
The outcomes of the project reflect its quality and impact: * The European and Friends’ Granary eBook – a collection of students’ creative and reflective work; * GrAIny Stories That Move Podcasts & Magazine Covers – multimedia products tackling discrimination, diversity, and identity; * Collaborative posters, videos, games, and storyboards – evidence of meaningful engagement and shared learning.
The final activity – a Treasure Hunt of Symbols – invited students to reflect on the project’ s milestones, find meaningful symbols that represented their growth, and share their thoughts on the most memorable experiences. This joyful and interactive task brought closure to a rich educational experience, reminding participants that each small grain contributes to a greater harvest.
