experience for students . The 16 partners from Turkey and Romania , designed interesting Multiple Intelligence activities and an interdisciplinary approach was used .
Can we even imagine life without mathematics ? This question is one of the interesting starting point of the eTwinning project “ Our World of Maths / OWOM ”. Together with the students , we looked at how integral mathematics is to our everyday lives . Our project aims to bring a new perspective to the teaching of mathematics by integrating different and fun activities that are related to the theory of multiple intelligences developed by Howard Gardner . The theory of multiple intelligences suggests that individuals possess different types of intelligence : logicalmathematical , verbal-linguistic , visual-spatial , naturalist , bodily-kinaesthetic , musicalrhythmic , interpersonal , and intrapersonal , and that addressing these intelligences in the classroom can enhance the learning
Our project activities activate more than one of the multiple intelligences . For example , the common works , story reading , Chalk talk activities and group discussion ( P4C ) simultaneously activates linguistic and interpersonal intelligences , the diary writing enhances intrapersonal and linguistic intelligences . The creative drawing , animating numbers and hundred-chart sewing mobilizes in parallel the logical-mathematical , spatial and bodily-kinaesthetic intelligences . Designing lapbooks integrates linguistic and spatial intelligences , singing song promotes musical and linguistic intelligences .
Creating and playing math games develops logical-mathematical and interpersonal intelligences . Observing the natural environment , sorting and classifying natural objects , such as plants , flowers and rocks , participating in park / playground clean-ups in addition to naturalistic intelligence , it also nurtures the logical-mathematical and spatial intelligences .
