The main tasks involved watching videos about bees , working in international teams formulating information about bees on a Padlet wall and changing it into an e-book . All of which improved the pupils ’ ICT skills .
Blue week Since blue is the colour of water , it was also chosen as the colour to symbolize the topic . Three videos ( the water cycle , water pollution , and the story of three plastic bottles ) showed the importance of keeping water fresh as it is not only the main substance from which we are formed , but we also drink it , and it is home to many species . Children shared vocabulary on the water cycle in a collaborative poster and they also shared their suggestions on saving and protecting water as well as pictures of their activities regarding keeping water fresh . These also went on their work in the minibook pages related to this topic .
Black week Waste bags are black and so this is the colour of the third week . The three Rs are the most important here : Recycling , Reducing , and Reusing . Watching A Whale ’ s Tale showed us what happens to animals trapped in rubbish and it made a huge impact on the children .
They played a game , went on with the minibook and practised sorting out rubbish in a collaborative poster . They continued sharing their proposals and photos , and they ended the week up with another quiz .
Yellow week Although some energy sources are renewable , some are limited . Yellow was the colour of energy sources as the final theme of the project . Differentiating between renewable and non-renewable energy sources , conserving and saving energy - these were all included in the last week . Children worked on a collaborative poster , played a game to practise renewable and non-renewable energy sources , and they also finished their work in the minibook .
Eco-friendly art and crafts and ExCursiOn The first activity here was the project logo , which was created in a collaborative way . Four project colours were put together by one team , the Earth was added by another team , the project title was supplemented by the next , and finally the project logo was published in Twinspace by the last team .
In order to make the project more ecological , old book paper and various materials were used for art and crafts . The outcomes are in the links below . The After-school club and its members took part in the project too , since they organized a green bike trip to a place nearby , both for the pupils and the parents .
