The Earth It is the name of the central character of our project , who guided the little eTwinners through the introduction , explained the green research to them , and then challenged them with specific activities of four main tasks , the core themes : green ( all living creatures ), blue ( water ), black ( recycling ), and yellow ( energy sources ). Finally , the Earth led them through the after-research and praised the children for their work at the very end of the project .
Getting to know each other Students drew their portraits , filled in some information about themselves and made a Google presentation to introduce themselves . They liked to read about the partners , their hobbies etc and compare them with themselves . Children also thought about what they would like to know about the partners ’ country and wrote their questions on a Padlet wall . They enjoyed reading the answers too . They even learned some songs of the partners ’ country and had great fun doing so .
Afterwards they read about the partners ’ country in their presentation . Since the project focused on developing digital skills , therefore , the final part was aimed at e-safety and netiquette . Students discussed the importance of keeping the rules such as how to be safe and how to behave online . They formulated their e-safety and netiquette rules .
How green are you ? In this part of the project the Earth asked the children how much they care about the planet as the place where they live . The task was simple – to fill in an online Google Form to see the children ’ s initial attitude and activity regarding ecology .
Green week At the beginning of the week the Earth expressed her worries about the planet and she asked the children to participate in the project to improve the conditions for all living creatures , as they were the first main theme included . The children read two e-books on the topic , learnt the vocabulary on parts of a plant , filled in a minibook , played a game , and took an online quiz . They also voiced their ideas to improve the living conditions for plants and animals and took pictures of their deeds , both of which were then placed on Padlet walls .
A bonus part of this week was Busy bees . It was aimed at celebrating the World Bee Day and to raise awareness of the importance of keeping this species in good condition .
