Growing Empathy and Gratitude: A Three-Nation eTwinning Journey by Valerica Mititelu
The eTwinning project " A Taste of Kindness Across the World " united primary school students and five teachers from Romania, Italy, and Spain in a transformative journey designed to place empathy, gratitude, sharing, and socioemotional growth at the heart of learning. Inspired by the picture book“ Thank you, Omu!”, the project brought together 10 – 11-year-old pupils across all three partner countries to experience kindness as a lived, daily habit and to build an inclusive European community rooted in appreciation and mutual respect. resilience, and active collaboration among primary school students. Intercultural Awareness: Promoting cross-cultural dialogue and celebrating European diversity through shared culinary traditions and literature. Family Engagement: Involving parents directly in experiential learning to strengthen the home-school educational partnership. Digital Literacy and Leadership: Fostering safe digital citizenship, autonomy, and communication skills through the ethical use of Web 2.0 tools and TwinSpace.

To achieve these goals, the project blended modern, active-learning methodologies across disciplines: Project-Based Learning( PBL) and Interdisciplinary STEAM: Blending reading comprehension, practical mathematics( measuring recipe ingredients and botanical data), science, and digital art( Canva, Quiver Vision 3D). Experiential Learning: Engaging students through real-world, hands-on tasks both in the classroom( researching plants, creating botanical cards) and at home.
