B. R. I. D. G. E. S. of Peace: A Relay Across Europe by Alessandra Poltronieri boundaries. Every year, the Peace Run meets thousands of students, encouraging them to reflect on the meaning of peace and inspiring them to become active builders of a more harmonious world. Our encounter with the Peace Run athletes became the spark that ignited B. R. I. D. G. E. S. of Peace. What could have remained a memorable school event evolved into something much greater. Thanks to eTwinning, that single experience became the starting point for a European educational journey based on collaboration, creativity and active citizenship.
" Today, you become Messengers of Peace." These simple words, spoken by the Peace Run athletes as they symbolically entrusted the children with the torch ' s message, marked the beginning of a journey that none of us could have imagined. The pupils had not simply been invited to watch an international sporting event. They had been entrusted with awell-rounded, important mission.
The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is an international relay that has promoted peace, friendship and human unity across the continents since 1987. The torch carried by the runners is not a symbol of competition, but of hope, shared responsibility and mutual understanding. The athletes explained that everyone who carries the Peace Run torch also carries a responsibility: to spread peace through everyday actions, respect, friendship and dialogue. Before continuing their journey, they challenged the children with a simple yet powerful mission: " Compose with care, share with flair, Poems of Peace, beyond compare." Write from the heart. Share with enthusiasm.
