Within this context, fourth- and fifth-year students enrolled in the Primary Education Degree Programme at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart( UCSC), Milan, actively participate in eTwinning projects with their Greek students partners
Both the Departments of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education aim to provide students with direct teaching placements that enable them to critically connect theory and practice in authentic educational contexts.
The University of Thessaly, Greece leads the scientific inquiry activities focused on observing plants in the schoolyard and nearby public green spaces, as well as the expansion of English vocabulary related to nature. The university develops educational resources suitable for both preschool and primary school settings. Both partner universities collaborate in the exchange of videos and teaching materials, the organization of joint presentations through the eTwinning TwinSpace platform, and the co-design, production, and dissemination of the project ' s final digital outputs. Throughout the project, university staff, mentor teachers, and pre-service teachers work together to ensure that all activities promote interdisciplinary learning,
The project " Discovering Plants in the Schoolyard and Its Surroundings " is designed for children attending preschool and primary school and aims to encourage exploration of the natural environment within school gardens while promoting meaningful and engaging English language learning.
