From the initial stages, I provided: methodological expertise, recommending sharing a calendar of activities with partners and using the teacher ' s bulletin; digital tools, beyond the TwinSpace, such as Panquiz, Digipad, and LearningApps; best practices, suggesting collaborative and group activities with the production of joint documents, offering concrete support in finding European partners, planning collaborative activities, and using the eTwinning platform. However, it was difficult to provide guidance on the design of the activities without ever imposing my own vision and leaving the partners to decide.
Thanks to this support, the project was able to develop in a dynamic, inclusive working environment, strongly oriented towards the European dimension of learning. I believe the added value of my intervention was not limited to organizational aspects, but above all it involved building a culture of collaboration, in which the sharing of skills becomes a driver of educational innovation, even when the project could be improved.
From the Classroom to the Community: A New Chapter of Engagement, by Maria Rosaria Gismondi
The expertise I gained during my career as a teacher and eTwinning Ambassador remains a precious toolkit that I still draw on whenever needed. Now that I have
retired from school, my role has evolved into mentorship and teacher training in the area where I live. I have also broadened my horizons by becoming a member of The Circle of Women of European Friendship, a network of independent women ' s groups across Europe dedicated to fostering cultural exchange and international friendship. My hometown, Frascati, is part of a broader European circle with established sister groups in Maidenhead( UK), Saint-Cloud( France), Bad Godesberg( Germany), Kortrijk( Belgium), and Salzburg( Austria). The groups organize regular cultural events, lectures, and reciprocal exchange visits. These exchanges allow members to travel, stay with host families in sister cities, and gain first-hand knowledge of each other ' s cultures and daily lives, in the name of our shared European values.
As a speaker at conferences at Roma Tre University, I take the opportunity to promote the eTwinning platform, strengthen professional communities, and help expand international collaboration across Europe, through short lectures on the international dimension of education and inclusion via eTwinning and Erasmus +.
Looking Ahead Next September, at the conference " From Diversity to Inclusion," I will aim to show how European projects foster classroom integration by placing students on the same team, engaged in authentic, creative, and cooperative tasks.
