PolyhedraLab, dedicated to exploring polyhedrons; and RoundLab, focused on the study of rounded solids.
Team 3 – In the World of Polygons: Problem Solving The third team made practical use of polygonal properties to solve mathematical and real-world problems. Drawing inspiration from nature, architecture, and design, the students built dynamic models in GeoGebra and designed worksheets featuring interactive problems, fostering logical thinking, creativity, and the application of mathematics in real-life contexts.
The results of the activity were compiled into a collaborative eBook, which includes the GeoGebra models, worksheets, original creations, and examples developed by all three international teams. Another activity that combined mathematics, technology, and creativity was“ Exploring 3D Shapes”. Students were organized into international teams and worked in two thematic laboratories:
Using the GeoGebra application, students created dynamic models of polyhedrons and rounded solids, exploring their properties and developing their spatial visualization skills. Through digital modeling, they analyzed the characteristic elements of each geometric solid— faces, edges, vertices, surface areas, and volumes— understanding how these shapes are found in everyday objects.
Based on the models they created, each student designed original problems inspired by real-world contexts, building upon the geometric properties of the studied solids. These mathematical challenges were solved by peers from other international teams, who explained the strategies used, justified their solutions, and provided constructive feedback.
The activity encouraged international collaboration, the exchange of ideas, and cooperative learning, offering students the opportunity to communicate in English
