improve foreign language skills( English), communication and teamwork skills, to develop students critical thinking and creativity skills, and unleash the power of imagination to envision sustainable future, and to implement meaningful activities on sustainability and citizenship.
Diversity of collaborative activities The project was full of various collaborative activities, both for teachers and students, and in this article will be described some of them. One type of projects ' activities was related to some important international days / weeks and initiatives, such as Global Goals Week, International E-waste Day, Code Week, European Week for Waste Reduction, Safer Internet Day, Digital Cleanup Day, Earth Day, and eTwinning Day. Besides that, we have designed and successfully implemented collaborative activities related to the main projects topics and based on our own ideas, to guide our students towards deeper understanding of the connection of their digital habits and their impact on nature, especially in a world full of Artificial Intelligence.
International E-waste Day and European Week for Waste Reduction International E-waste Day is a global initiative launched by the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment( WEEE) Forum to raise awareness about the growing challenge of electronic waste and to inspire action. The International E-waste Day 2025 was held on 14 October, and launched under the theme „ Recycle Your E-waste – It’ s Critical!“. In our eTwinning project we specifically drew our students ' attention to Critical Raw Materials( CRMs),
an important topic which was new for them. We guided students to understand a new perspective on E-waste and raised awareness about the fact that CRMs can be recovered from unused or broken electronic products which are already in our countries( on EU territory). The projects ' activities around the International E-waste Day were entitled " How do you handle your own e-waste?" and they consisted of work on a shared Padlet, and creation and completion of the online poll for students. Relying on the International E-waste Day activities, we continued work on this topic in November, as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction( EWWR). Students created educational posters with Canva which were exposed on pinboards in school. eTwinners initiated collection actions in schools( waste paper, e-waste and batteries), so it can be concluded that the project contributed to a stronger culture of environmental responsibility within participating schools.
Digital Cleanup Day In March 2026 we continued with the Digital Cleanup Day, as an excellent starting point to the following activity, collaboration on the creation of the presentation“ Digital Waste: The Hidden Footprint of Our Online World”. All schools participated in the Digital Cleanup Day, and the impact of our project demonstrates the achieved total result of 703 GB deleted.
