On Human Rights’ Day on the 10 th of December, students actively engaged in a series of educational activities aimed at deepening their awareness of human rights and related global issues. As part of the initiative, students explored the UN photo exhibition " Photography 4 Humanity 2024 " and its delivered messages. This was followed by national teams’ class discussions focused on the 2025 theme“ Our Everyday Essentials”. To consolidate their learning, students filled in the related twinpoll questions and further reflected on the topic by sharing their message on a padlet, by creating a representative AI generated image of it and by commenting to their peers’ reflections on the everyday things, rights and values in order to live well and sustainably.
Eco-matches unlocked: students worked in national and international teams, chose their favourite player position, shared their ideas about his / her physical characteristics, psychological characteristics, the special eco-friendly role or cause the player will champion, connected to the triple planetary crisis,
chose the players’ uniforms and AI generated their avatars.
During the 1 st Eco-match entitled“ Climate Cup”, students worked in international teams, composed promotional videos, players’ interviews, posters & banners, comments, youth climate campaigns culminating in the Climate Cup board showcasing their culture of collaboration, shared learning and their strong sense of environmental responsibility.
During the 2 nd Eco-match entitled“ Plastic Pollution Cup” students watched relevant videos, explored and identified the key issues they considered most important, drew their conclusions justifying them, shared their thoughts, feelings, proposals and interacted with their peers’ posts on the Plastic Pollution Cup padlet board. Through the activity, students developed a deeper understanding of the many dimensions of plastic pollution and the urgent need for strong concern and action.
During the 3rd Eco-match entitled“ Biodiversity Cup”, students watched a relevant video presentation and explored the deeper meaning of biodiversity loss e. g why it matters, its relationship to the triple planetary crisis, the way it can be tackled, the national strategies in the students’ countries of origins and the species in danger in their countries. The results of their research were presented during the 2 nd students’ online meeting.
