The second module of the project was dedicated to soil, an essential resource for the balance of ecosystems and the existence of life. Through the activities carried out, students discovered the importance of soil for plants, animals, and humans, developing a closer connection with the environment. During the scientific activities, children explored different types of soil and their characteristics, completing worksheets and drawing conclusions based on their observations.
The Reading component was supported by exploring the literary texts“ The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson” and“ The Story of Soil”. After the reading activities, students checked their understanding through interactive educational games created in Kahoot and Wordwall, transforming reading into a participatory learning experience. Engineering was represented through the creation of individual terrariums. By building these small ecosystems, students observed the relationships between soil, water, plants, and living organisms, understanding how nature maintains its balance.
The technological component was enhanced through the creation of a digital map of the soils found in the Republic of Moldova. Each student investigated a specific type of soil and created a short video material using the Grok application, presenting information about its properties and uses.
Arts brought a creative dimension to the module through the creation of a song using the Suno. AI application. Students enthusiastically performed the song, using music as a means of conveying an
