discovered that sustainability is not just a theoretical concept, but a way of perceiving the world, making decisions, and taking action to protect the planet.
The project was based on the STREAM / STEAM approach, an educational framework that integrates Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Through this interdisciplinary perspective, students explored the same topics from different but interconnected viewpoints, establishing links between knowledge areas and applying what they learned in practical activities. The activities were organized around four main themes: Air, Soil, and Green Energy. Each module started from problem-based situations presented as a dialogue between a robot and a child. Starting from these challenges, students analysed the causes of environmental issues, formulated hypotheses, and proposed solutions, developing their analytical thinking, creativity, and civic responsibility.
The first module focused on air and its importance for the existence of life on Earth. Students carried out experiments to observe the properties of air and discussed the factors that influence its quality. Using the Grok application, the children created a video material about the role of plants in purifying the air, discovering the connection between nature and environmental health. The technological component continued with the creation of a weather forecast in Canva, where students analysed and presented weather-related data. For the Reading component, students became creators of educational content. With the
support of artificial intelligence tools, they developed the text and illustrations for the book“ The Breeze of Air” and then created its digital version using the Story Jumper application. Through this experience, children learned how to transform scientific information into an accessible and engaging message for other students.
The activity contributed to the development of communication skills, writing abilities, digital creativity, and artistic expression. The Engineering component was represented by planting flowers, through which students observed the role of plants in maintaining cleaner air. Arts were integrated through the creation of paintings using directed air streams, an activity that stimulated imagination and encouraged the creative exploration of natural phenomena. Mathematics was applied through the completion of a weather data table, in which students analysed parameters such as temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and wind speed. The evaluation of the module was carried out through a podcast dedicated to the theme of“ Air”, created together with the school principal. This activity gave students the opportunity to reflect on the knowledge they had gained and to communicate the results of their work.
