Learning through international collaboration Throughout the 2025 – 2026 school year, our classrooms came together as one European learning community. From the very first online meeting, my pupils were excited to meet children from different countries, introduce themselves and discover what they had in common. Together, they pinned their schools on a shared digital map, exchanged ideas and learned about each other ' s daily lives and traditions through the Forum in the project ' s TwinSpace.
It didn ' t take long for them to realise that distance didn ' t matter. Through every collaborative activity they discovered that friendship grows willingness to learn from one another. Watching my pupils become more confident and eager to communicate was one of the most rewarding parts of the project. They weren ' t just practising English— they were building meaningful connections with children across Europe. creativity, collaboration and intercultural understanding.
From local stories to a European tour guide One of the most engaging and meaningful activities of our project was " My Friend ' s Hometown ". Rather than describing the places where they live, our pupils took on a new challenge— they explored the hometowns of their international partners. Through conversations and questions in the TwinSpace Forum, they exchanged information, discovered local landmarks, traditions, and everyday life.
Inspired by what they had learned, the pupils wrote about their partner ' s hometown from the perspective of a visitor. The final result was our collaborative publication, Our Friends ' Hometowns – Tour Guide eBook. Through children ' s voices, readers can travel across Europe, discover local heritage and appreciate the cultural diversity that connects us all.
