" Culture Mosaic " – A Bridge Between Cultures by Maria Vlase

In a world where intercultural dialogue and international cooperation are becoming increasingly important, eTwinning projects provide students with the opportunity to learn beyond the boundaries of the classroom. One such example is the " Culture Mosaic " project, which brought together schools from Türkiye, Romania, Jordan, and Italy in an educational initiative dedicated to discovering and promoting cultural heritage.
The cultural diversity of the partner countries was the project ' s greatest strength. Through collaborative activities, students had the opportunity to explore the traditions, customs, landmarks, and values of each participating country while developing tolerance, empathy, and respect for diversity. English served as the project ' s working language, encouraging communication in a foreign language while enhancing students ' linguistic competence and confidence in expressing themselves.
At the beginning of the project, teachers and students introduced themselves on the eTwinning platform, facilitating mutual acquaintance and the creation of an international learning community. Continuous communication was maintained through TwinSpace and the project ' s dedicated WhatsApp group,
where teachers coordinated activities and monitored the progress of the teams.
The partnership was built on genuine collaboration from the planning stage. Teachers jointly established the project ' s objectives, activity schedule, responsibilities, and the digital tools to be used. Students worked in international teams, researched the cultural heritage of each country, compared traditions, and created shared digital products, including presentations, posters, videos, digital stories, virtual exhibitions, quizzes, and interactive learning materials.
Students from Marin Coman Theoretical High School in Galați explored and promoted the richness of Romania ' s cultural heritage. They researched emblematic landmarks, ancient customs, and traditional games, rediscovering the cultural wealth of the Romanian people. One of the most appreciated contributions was dedicated to Peleș Castle, presented in English through carefully selected information and representative images, and later included in the digital magazine created using Canva.
The main outcome of this international collaboration was the online magazine " Echoes of Cultures ", a publication
